Call to Worship
    Good and upright is the Lord;
        Instructing sinners in the way.
    God leads the humble in what is right.
        And shows the humble the way.

Opening Prayer
Almighty God, who raised Jesus Christ from the dead: Grant our desires and prayers, receive our worship, and enrich us with your grace that we may rise from death and pass over into life with you; Who with your Son and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God for ever and ever.         Sing them over again to me, wonderful words of life;
        Let me more of their beauty see, wonderful words of life;
        Words of life and beauty teach me faith and duty.

        Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life.
        Beautiful words, wonderful words, wonderful words of life.

        Christ, the blessed one, gives to all wonderful words of life;
        Sinner, list to the loving call, wonderful words of life;
        All so freely given, wooing us to heaven.

        Repeat Refrain
        Sweetly echo the gospel call, wonderful words of life;

        Offer pardon and peace to all, wonderful words of life;
        Jesus, only Savior, sanctify forever.

✝✝ “Holy Spirit, Truth Divine” Polk Street United Methodist Church - Amarillo, TX

        Holy Spirit, Truth divine, dawn upon this soul of mine;
        Word of God and inward light, wake my spirit, clear my sight.
        Holy Spirit, Love divine, glow within this heart of mine;
        kindle every high desire; perish self in thy pure fire.
        Holy Spirit, Power divine, fill and nerve this will of mine;
        grant that I may strongly live, bravely bear, and nobly strive.
        Holy Spirit, Right divine, King within my conscience reign;
        be my Lord, and I shall be firmly bound, forever free.

✝✝✝ “Come, Ye Thankful People, Come” First United Methodist Church, HoustonTX

        Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home;
        All is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin.
        God our Maker doth provide for our wants to be supplied;
        Come to God's own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home.
        All the world is God's own field, fruit as praise to God we yield;
        Wheat and tares together sown are to joy or sorrow grown;
        First the blade and then the ear, then the full corn shall appear;
        Lord of harvest, grant that we wholesome grain and pure may be.
        For the Lord our God shall come, and shall take the harvest home;
        From the field shall in that day all offenses purge away,
        Giving angels charge at last in the fire the tares to cast;
        But the fruitful ears to store in the garner evermore.
        Even so, Lord, quickly come, bring Thy final harvest home;
        Gather Thou Thy people in, free from sorrow, free from sin,
        There, forever purified, in Thy presence to abide;
        Come, with all thine angels, come, raise the glorious harvest home.
