God has appointed a law in Israel,
That we may know the ways of the Lord.
So let us keep the commandments,
And set our hope in God.

Opening Prayer
Almighty God, from whom we have received every good gift:  Let our souls enjoy their desire to be enkindled by your Spirit that, being filled as lamps by your divine presence, we may shine like blazing lights before your Son Jesus Christ at his returning; Through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who reigns with you in the Trinity for ever. Amen.
