The Third Sunday of Easter - Growth

Welcome

Prelude   "Prelude in Bb"   by Johann Rinck

Call to Worship   Mike Lindsay

God watched over us as we slept last night

God was there when we awakened this morning.

God is in this place, among us now.

God is in the silence, the singing, the sermon, and the prayers.

   Let us worship God.

Opening Hymn   “Many and Great”   #148

Opening Prayer   Mike Lindsay

Lord of life, submitting to death, you conquered the grave.

By being lifted on a cross you draw all peoples to you.

By being raised from the dead

you restored to humanity all that we had lost through sin.

Throughout these fifty days of Easter

we proclaim the marvelous mystery of death and resurrection.

For all praise is yours, now and throughout eternity. Amen.

Prayer of Thanksgiving and The Lord’s Prayer   Mike Lindsay

O God of glory and majesty:

We have stood with the crowds to sing your praises, and then we've been lured to other devotions. Yet you have with passion and compassion embraced us once again as your children. We

pray that these gifts that we bring and the gifts of our hearts on this day may be worthy in your sight. We pray with humble hope that we might be your steadfast disciples in our homes, our

church, our community, our nation, and our world.

We pray as Jesus taught us to by saying:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come, your will be done,

    on earth as in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.

Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil.

For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours

    now and for ever. Amen.
