Call to Worship                                                                                                Tom and Maureen Upton
Good and upright is the Lord,
God leads the humble in what is right.
God makes known the way of righteousness,
        And teaches the Lord’s paths.

Opening Prayer
Almighty God, whose blessed Son endured the temptations of the devil to show us the way of obedience:   Grant that we, who through our own infirmity have fallen to our adversary, maybe delivered by the intervention of His passion;   Through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who with you and the Holy Spirit reigns for ever more. Amen.    [TJC after the Gregorian Sacramentary]

children's Time

We're doing something a little different this week, something abstract and a little vague.

This week I wanted to talk about the Montgomery Bus Boycott that took place in the 1950s.

It was a peaceful protest that Black people in Alabama participated in for over a year

so that there would no longer be discrimination on city buses.

Today's scripture from Genesis seemed to correlate perfectly

with a story of a people finding strength in God's promises of justice.

We'll talk more about the Bus Boycott next week and perhaps this video will then make more sense!

For now enjoy Mrs. Green's telling of the beautiful covenant God has made with Noah and the Earth.
